Signal Sleuth is an iPhone app for scanning nearby Bluetooth Low Energy devices, classifying recurring BLE advertisements, and helping you narrow down signal origin with on-device signal analysis.
Information handled by the app
- Nearby BLE advertisement metadata such as device names, service identifiers, RSSI samples, manufacturer data, and timing.
- Device ownership labels, aliases, notes, hidden-device settings, and recurring watchlist history that you create in the app.
- Subscription status returned by Apple for Signal Sleuth VIP purchases.
How information is used
- To show nearby devices and organize them into a readable list.
- To improve warmer-or-colder signal guidance and recurring unknown-device watchlists.
- To apply manual ownership and alias decisions you make in the app.
- To unlock VIP features after Apple confirms a valid subscription.
What stays on device
Signal Sleuth stores scan history, labels, and derived device summaries locally on your device using local app storage. This release does not require account creation and does not provide cloud sync.
Third parties
Signal Sleuth does not use third-party advertising SDKs. Subscription billing is handled by Apple through your App Store account. Apple may process purchase, billing, and transaction information under Appleās own policies.
Data sharing
Signal Sleuth does not intentionally sell your personal information and does not upload BLE scan history to a remote server by default.
